Yes, we finally have some rain. St. George is known for having 255 days of sunshine per a year and ony 8 inches of rain. In the last 24 hours we have had almost 1 inch of rain. This amount of rain can cause flooding in our streets and homes.
Even with this large amount of rainfall, we are still in our driest season on record. Southwest Utah has only 9% of its normal snowpack, which plays an important role in our water resources.
With that being said, stay dry and drive carefully. There is a lot of construction going and the roads are torn up out there.
